05.09.2017

Paul Wheelhouse, Scottish Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy has reaffirmed Scotland’s commitment to the ocean energy sector, by confirming a keynote address at the OEE2017 Conference & Exhibition in Nantes, France this October.

Scotland has long been a global leader in the ocean energy space and since taking office in 2016, Mr Wheelhouse has been a strong supporter of the wave & tidal energy industry.

In his keynote address, the Minister will outline Scotland’s plans to build on the world leading successes of its pioneering ocean energy industry, and how Scotland will work with Europe’s other ocean energy heavyweights, such as France, to bring the sector to commercial readiness.

Rémi Gruet, CEO of Ocean Energy Europe said:
“It sends a strong signal that Minister Wheelhouse has chosen to accompany his industry partners to France this October for the OEE2017 Conference & Exhibition. The ocean energy industry is reaching a pivotal moment in its development, and collaboration between the frontrunner nations will be fundamental to getting the sector over the line to commercialisation. With the right collaboration and support, ocean energy can become a European industrial success story”.
