The role of flexible renewable generation for a successful decarbonisation of electricity
The event, organised in the framework of the DG ETIP project, aims at discussing the role of flexible renewable generation for a successful decarbonisation of electricity.
A first panel will present the potential of geothermal, solar thermal electricity, bioenergy and ocean energy, for the effective decarbonisation of the electricity system.
A second panel will look at the financing aspect of this transition, and how to value adequately the specific services of these renewable energy technologies: flexibility and dispatchability.
It will be an afternoon of discussions to highlight how flexible renewable technologies fit in Europe’s path towards a carbon neutral economy.
