OEE CEO to Speak at UN Ocean Conference

For the first time, the great potential of ocean energy will be presented at the United Nations. This side event will bring high-level speakers from governments, the United Nations, the industry and civil society, to underline the key benefits of ocean energy for coastal and island States.

The goal of the event is also to emphasize how this innovative sector can play a significant role in meeting the United Nations sustainable development goals, particularly in terms of energy efficiency, fight against climate change and protection of maritime resources.

 

Under favorable regulatory and economic conditions, ocean energy will play an important role in addressing one of the world’s biggest current challenges: an energy transition from a system based on fossil fuels to a flexible and interconnected system based on clean, renewable and infinite domestic resources.
