Debate - Where to put your tidal turbine: bottom-fixed or floating?
Both floating and bottom-fixed tidal turbines have been successfully demonstrated, and are about to be deployed in pre-commercial farms. The two technologies show significant potential and are supported by public funding, and government Contracts for Difference. Yet their applicability varies depending on site characteristics and other factors.
This session will compare the two technologies, examine their respective strengths and limitations, and discuss the future deployment pathways for floating and bottom-fixed tidal farms.
