5km run

It wouldn’t be OEE2020 without the traditional 5km run. This year, we’re all at home – so all the more reason to lace up, get outside and shake off those COVID cobwebs!

Go for your 5km run at any time on Monday 30 November in your own area and share your stats & photos on the OEE2020 online platform. The best image will receive a free pass to next year’s event!

OceanSET Workshop

Tuesday 1 December, 15:00 – 16:00

This OceanSET workshop is being organised at OEE2020 to encourage knowledge and expertise sharing between innovation providers and funders. It will be a real opportunity to share the very first results of the second-year mapping and analysis carried out in Member States. Insights will be provided on funding programmes, revenue support, consenting processes or projects funded across Member States, and on technologies, energy production or Investment and O&M costs of the more mature ocean energy devices.

DTOcean+ Workshop

Wednesday 2 December, 13:30 – 15:30

The H2020 DTOceanPlus project aims to develop and test a software suite of advanced design tools for tidal and wave systems, to be released mid-2021 following validation by industrial partners in the consortium. The workshop will give a general overview of the suite of tools and their capabilities, plus explain how to run them with relevant user cases.

OPIN - Ocean DEMO Workshop

Wednesday 2 December, 13:45 – 17:15

Since inception, the OPIN project has built a network of over 380 companies from across Ocean energy and related sectors to collaborate and address industry challenges. OPIN partners will update participants on their activities to date and will highlight the supports that OPIN members can access to both improve their own technology development as well as address joint challenges for the sector.

The Ocean DEMO project partners will update on their progress to address significant challenges for the industry such as de-risking OE generating technologies in multi-device farm configuration; developing an active supply chain that invests in dedicated OE sub-systems and components and creating a supportive policy environment for OE by providing governments with confidence in OE and highlighting OE’s economic benefits.

OCEANERA-NET Workshop

Thursday 3 December, 9:45 – 11:00

This side event will provide an update on the 9 projects funded under the Co-funded Joint Call 2017 and announce 3 new projects funded under the Second Joint Call 2019.

ETIP Ocean Workshop

Thursday 3 December, 11:15 – 12:30

This workshop features best practices and lessons learnt in specific R&I topics for ocean energy development. Three parallel Breakout Sessions will give you the opportunity to share experiences in your area of expertise and identify common research interests – and perhaps find your next R&I project partners! The Breakout Sessions focus on wave energy, tidal stream and tech-neutral reliability.
